Shannon LeFebvre
Shannon has always had a passion for event planning, especially wedding planning. After graduating from The University of South Dakota with a Public Relations degree she moved to Nashville, TN to intern in the public relations and event planning office of The Country Music Association. She gained valuable knowledge of the planning and preparation behind such national events as the CMA Awards Show and the CMA Music Festival. But the planning of her own South Dakota wedding brought her back to the state. After becoming married she found a new, creative outlet for her event planning passion by working part-time for Envision Wedding Studio where she assisted in all wedding design aspects; from invitations to wedding day set-up.
Kelsey is a registered dietitian with an MS in Nutrition and Food Science from SDSU. She is a Nutritionist at the Brown Clinic in Watertown, SD. She is also a partner in their Strive 2 Survive Program and a recent. For more information on Kelsey’s services or the Strive 2 Survive Program head over to their blog. Kelsey will contribute a new nutrition focused article every other month to help readers prepare for their wedding.
Dr. Dan is the Chief Medical Officer at Brown Clinic in Watertown, SD. He has a BA from Augustana and his MD from USD. He is board-certified with the American Board of Family Practice and has a Certification of Added Qualification (Board Certification) in Sports Medicine. Dr. Dan is also a partner on the Strive 2 Survive Program. Most importantly for us Dr. Dan is passionate about fitness, working out, and helping others to become motivated to do the same. He will be contributing an article every other month with a focus on wedding and life fitness. Dr. Dan is also the South Dakota family Doctor of the Year.
Tina is an Iowa native, a South Dakota resident, wife, mother, farm girl, and UNI panther. She is a planner and hostess by nature, a wedding lover by accident. Tina’s love and passion for weddings began years ago while collecting clippings from magazines and feeding her obsession. With a pulse on the wedding industry Tina enjoys bringing her opinion to the world through conversation, consultations, and writing. After four years and nearly 200 couples as the Event and Wedding Director for Callaway’s Tina has refocused on entrepreneurship and is the owner of Social Bug. She will be contributing an editorial and a DIY post each month.
Katlyn works for the South Dakota Department of Tourism on the media team. Originally from southwest Minnesota, she now has found her home and place in Pierre, South Dakota with her family. She loves to take the back roads through South Dakota exploring the hidden treasures and quirky places across the state. Her favorite things about South Dakota include homemade maple-covered donuts from Wall Drug, Little Spearfish Falls in Spearfish Canyon, popcorn balls from The World’s Only Corn Palace, the Missouri River and bike paths throughout the state. Katlyn will contribute destination wedding, honeymoon and South Dakota vacation ideas to South Dakota Wedding Style.
Angelique Verver one of the areas most talented makeup and hair artists brings her skills to our stylized and editorial shoots. She can accomplish any look we task her with from soft to FX. She is so valuable to our beauty articles as well as styling of our shoots. Her work is featured on many of our models. Angelique is also the owner of Platinum Imagination.
Paige Stensland was born and raised in Tea, South Dakota. She attended Black Hills State University where she obtained her Bachelors in Multimedia. She is currently residing in northwest Iowa, and for the past two years she has been assisting in wedding set-up as well as invitation and layout design. Paige is our Executive Media Assistant and works and we love all of the hard work she does for us.
Amy Eckert is a SD native with a degree in mass communication from Creighton University. School took her south for a short while, but eventually her heart drew her back home. In addition to gracing SDWS with her prose, Amy also assisted in styling and set-up of several of the editorials.
